So what should you wear to a pumpkin patch for the best photos?
Autumn colours are always a winner.
Cream, beige, brown, rust, burnt orange, olive green, burgundy and denim all photograph beautifully against orange pumpkins and the natural colours of the Essex countryside. Chunky knitwear, checked shirts, denim jackets, gilets and boots can create that cosy autumn look without feeling too dressed up.
If you are visiting as a family, you do not necessarily need everyone wearing matching outfits. Instead, choose colours that complement each other. A mixture of creams, browns, denim and warm autumn tones can look much more natural in photographs than everyone wearing exactly the same thing.
Couples can keep things relaxed too. Jeans, boots and a cosy jumper are perfect for wandering around the Pumpkin Patch, grabbing something delicious from the Food Village and getting some lovely photos together.
For babies and toddlers, comfort comes first. Cute knitted jumpers, dungarees and little wellies look adorable amongst the pumpkins, but make sure you bring warm layers and waterproofs too. And if you happen to find a pumpkin big enough for that classic baby in a pumpkin photo, even better.
Of course, we cannot guarantee sunshine in Essex in October.
Farmer Scott’s is a real farm, which means the ground can become muddy after rain. Wear footwear that can handle the conditions and bring a waterproof coat and umbrella if the forecast looks changeable.
